I am an industrial engineer. I started my career as an engineer at one of Turkey's leading and well-established companies. Later, I transitioned to the Marketing Department and held various roles, working as a manager for 14 years.

I actively participated in various trade fair organizations in many countries around the world. This provided me with the opportunity to experience different cultures firsthand. Subsequently, I left corporate life and worked as a trader in the financial markets for a considerable period - due to my personal interest. I am still active as a financial advisor. Afterwards, I founded my own company under the name Uçar Education Consultancy and Trade Inc.; we started our operations as Unitedwords Turkey under the brand Unitedwords UK.

In addition to education, I continue to engage in import and export activities in various sectors.

I began my career in education as an English/French Teacher over 20 years ago and worked with various age groups.

​

I completed Professional Coaching Training approved by the ICF-International Coaching Federation and the University of Toronto. I had the opportunity to apply the techniques I learned both in the classroom and during individual sessions. I also worked on CIS-Council of International Schools accreditation processes.

 

For many years, I have been serving as the Technical Curriculum Coordinator at my school.

When I started working as an International Education Consultant in 2016, I began using all my accumulated knowledge in this field. I traveled to dozens of countries to visit universities and get to know the countries closely. I continue my travels to keep my knowledge up-to-date and to guide my students in the best possible way. I have organized numerous overseas university fairs and participated in many of them. As a result, I play an active role in helping hundreds of students gain admission to prestigious universities around the world.

 

In addition to being familiar with the expectations of IB and AP curricula in overseas universities, I also serve as the SAT/PSAT and IELTS Exam Coordinator.

In 1993, I graduated from the Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling at Ankara Gazi University. My career journey, which has been ongoing for about 30 years, began in 1993 at a private cram school in Izmir.

From 1997 to 2021, I served as a Psychological Counselor and later as a Department Coordinator at prominent schools in Istanbul, including Eyüboğlu Educational Institutions and Feyziye Schools Foundation Private Erenköy Işık High School.

In 2021, I returned to my hometown, Izmir, to start my professional career as a Psychological Counselor at Izmir American College, one of the oldest schools in Izmir.

 

Throughout my career, I have completed important and long-term training programs such as Family Therapy, Counseling Skills Training, Therapies from a Psychodynamic Perspective, Psychoanalytic Supervision Training, and Individual Psychotherapy. Additionally, I have completed supervision training for various tests used in Therapeutic Cards Training and Special Learning Difficulties areas. Under the leadership of expert instructors, I have participated in case sharing and case analysis sessions.

 

Since 2023, I have been providing psychological counseling services with a dynamic perspective to individuals, families, adolescents, and adults, drawing upon my nearly 30 years of experience.

With 20 years of experience in the education sector, I provide services to my students as an academician, consultant, and linguist in the field of Academic English. I continue to guide my students in their education and career paths through the education consultancy company I founded in London, UK, in 2007, and through the universities where I teach in the UK.

I completed my undergraduate education in English Language and Literature and successfully completed my master's degree in Turkish as a Foreign Language, focusing on comparative foreign language learning strategies. In the field of English language teaching, I hold internationally recognized qualifications such as the CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) and DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults) accredited by the University of Cambridge in the UK, as well as Learning Technologies in EAP certificates from the University of Sheffield.

Since 2017, I have been teaching Academic English at King's College London, and since 2019, I have been teaching at Royal Holloway University of London. At these two institutions, I provide English language education to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students. With proficiency in English and Turkish languages and my experience in the field, I continue to provide consultancy services for undergraduate and postgraduate applications to overseas universities as well as academic research and writing. In addition to professional consultancy and education, my interests and areas of study include cognitive learning, technology in education, language acquisition and learning strategies, and raising multilingual children.
