KORDON 2046. Imagine the future. Shape your ideas.
Updated: 5 days ago
An architecture, digital art and design workshop for high school students with academics from Manchester Metropolitan University.
If you had an idea to take İzmir’s Kordon into the future, what would you change?
Organised jointly by Unitedwords and FADS Art Academy, KORDON 2046 brings high school students together with three academics from Manchester Metropolitan University. In this workshop, you’ll work in small teams, develop ideas for the Kordon’s present and future, and use creative methods to visualise your ideas.
For high school students · Free participation · Limited places
📅 Saturday, 17 October 2026
🕒 13:00–17:00
📍 Renaissance Izmir Hotel

Let’s imagine the future of the Kordon together.
A city is more than its buildings. The spaces where people come together, everyday habits, technology and the environment also shape urban life.
At KORDON 2046, we’ll explore İzmir’s waterfront life through these relationships. We’ll examine how the Kordon connects people with the city and explore how digital technologies, physical spaces and user needs could transform this area in the future.
Our work will take place in two stages:
Develop an idea for today: Think about spaces, digital systems and activities that could offer new ways to use the Kordon.
Imagine a future for 2046: Take today’s idea into the future. Develop a creative proposal that could change how people interact with the city.
In this ideas workshop, you can think beyond the limits of budgets and existing technology. Use your imagination, ask questions and bring your ideas to life.
